INVICTUS
“I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.” -- William Ernest Henley
Designed for residential users who want to steer their path and perform leg presses without a gym membership or a massive, unwieldy, expensive machine, the Invictus will let you work your quads, glutes, and calves with the over-engineered smoothness of its glide, sparing your joints and your floor space.
Speaking of sparing the joints, the Invictus is massively comfortable. Underneath the tear-resistant antimicrobial upholstery, you will find 2.5 inches of industrial-grade Polyurethane foam on both the backrest and the seat. To change the angle of one to the other, simply pull the pin and tilt the backrest through 4 adjustments: 50, 60, 70, and 90 degrees, respectively. Each position allows you to target different muscles in your legs and lower back.
The four 10-inch storage horns let you store the weight plates you are not currently using. As for the weights you are, they go on the four 10-inch double-welded weight horns that allow you to lift 20 (yes, 20) 45-pound plates the size of our Olympics for an upward weight limit of 900 pounds, a ceiling that can be pushed even further by adding our 20-pound Savage chains to the sled. These weight totals take the 2-inch screw-fastened safety collars that come with the Invictus into account. When loading the Invictus, we suggest using the second lockout position as the third is too close to the rear bars.
In total, there are 3 lockout positions on the Invictus that put a limit on how far the sled can come down. It’s a safety feature that also allows you to control the range of motion on the machine. Each lockout bar is made of solid steel with a galvanized surface and can be rotated into place by simply turning one or both of the extruded rubber-coated handles on either side of the seat.
The footplate is huge, textured with a diamond print, and wide enough for a variety of foot placements. It’s 754 square inches (29X26) with a 9-inch decline from the top for even more positional variety.
Besides the lockout and adjustment bars, glide rail, and weight horns, every metal surface on the Invictus is coated with a finish of powder-black chip-resistant paint to promote longevity and give the machine a sleek, yet serious look, an aesthetic further enhanced by the triquetra insignias on the weight horns, and Bolt insignia on the backboard, all laser-etched.
Inspired by William Ernest Henley's poem of the same name, the Invictus is a functional, yet elegant machine that helps its users break free from the commercial gym system by giving them an industrial-grade leg press for less than a thousand dollars.
